DDP Shipping From China With Written Responsibilities and Charges
Under Incoterms® 2020, the seller under the sales contract is responsible for import clearance and applicable import duties and taxes under DDP. A logistics quotation must still identify the exact named place, parties, service scope, responsibilities, included charges, and exclusions.
Jinghang generally offers shipment-reviewed DDP for the United States and the 25 European countries listed below. Canada and Australia require actual-shipment review. DAP may be arranged globally, subject to review.

01 · Clarify the term
DDP, DAP, and legacy DDU are not interchangeable.
Use a current rule and an exact named place in the commercial arrangement.
DDP — Delivered Duty Paid
Under the sales contract, the seller is responsible for import clearance and applicable import duties and taxes to the agreed named destination, with goods placed at the buyer's disposal ready for unloading.
DAP — Delivered at Place
Under the sales contract, the buyer handles import clearance and applicable import duties and taxes. Goods are delivered to the agreed named destination ready for unloading.
DDU — legacy wording
DDU is not a current Incoterms® 2020 rule. A DDU request should be clarified into a current term, exact named place, parties, responsibilities, and written quotation scope.
Unloading boundary DDP and DAP do not by themselves mean unloading equipment, labor, site access, appointments, or related charges are included. Confirm those items separately where relevant.

03 · Review the transaction
Every DDP quotation is shipment-specific.
Incoterms® responsibility and logistics-service scope are related but not identical.
A quotation may depend on
- Product description, intended use, quantity, value, tariff assumptions, and available documents
- Battery, liquid, powder, magnet, branded, oversized, or other regulated characteristics
- Origin, supplier readiness, pickup points, and consolidation needs
- Destination country, postcode, named place, appointments, unloading, and site access
- Seller, buyer, shipper, consignee, importer, customs, and authorization structure
- Route, provider, customs process, final-delivery feasibility, dimensions, and weight
Role boundary A DDP heading does not prove that an importer structure is valid, every charge is included, or tax and customs treatment is confirmed. Qualified customs, tax, or legal advice may be needed.
04 · Define charges
Require a written treatment for every relevant category.
There is no universal Jinghang DDP inclusion matrix.
The quotation should mark each item included, excluded, not applicable, or pending confirmation
- Origin pickup, China-side handling, consolidation, cargo preparation, and main international transport
- Export formalities and document responsibilities
- Import customs clearance, importer structure, service fees, duties, VAT, or other import taxes
- Customs examinations, additional inspections, and resulting documents, charges, or delays
- Destination terminal, handling, remote-area, special-delivery, and final-delivery charges
- Storage, demurrage, detention, waiting, redelivery, address correction, appointments, and failed-delivery charges
- Unloading, equipment, labor, site access, insurance, claim handling, and other destination charges

05 · Prepare inputs

06 · Review feasibility
Confirm the operating structure before cargo moves.
Service begins only after the applicable written scope and commercial terms are accepted.
- Confirm whether DDP or DAP is intended, the exact named destination, and any legacy DDU wording.
- Review product, value, packaging, special characteristics, available documents, and missing information.
- Identify seller, buyer, shipper, consignee, importer, declaration, authorization, and compliance responsibilities.
- Check origin, destination postcode, route and provider conditions, customs, and final-delivery feasibility.
- Issue a written scope stating the term, named place, parties, responsibilities, included charges, exclusions, assumptions, and adjustment conditions.
07 · Manage changes
DDP does not remove customs or cargo risk.
Changed shipment facts may require a new feasibility or price review.
A quotation may need review if dimensions, weight, product description, value, tariff assumptions, documents, special characteristics, destination, postcode, customs events, storage, redelivery, access, regulatory requirements, or partner conditions change.
Battery-related, sensitive, oversized, overweight, and regulated cargo may be reviewed case by case. DDP does not make prohibited, restricted, counterfeit, infringing, or undocumented cargo acceptable.
No universal guarantee DDP does not guarantee customs clearance, exemption from examination, a fixed tax result, uninterrupted transit, or final delivery. Each party must provide accurate information and meet the recorded responsibilities.

How does DDP shipping from China to the United States work?

Can goods from several Chinese suppliers be consolidated for DDP delivery to Europe?
Compatible goods may be assessed for consolidation and DDP delivery to one of the 25 listed European countries. Supplier timing, product compatibility, packaging, shipment data, customs requirements, destination, route, responsibilities, and quotation scope must be reviewed before acceptance.
Should I request DDP or DDU?
Request a current DDP or DAP review rather than relying on DDU. DDU is a legacy term. State the intended import-clearance responsibility, exact named place, parties, and included or excluded charges.
Does DDP include duties, VAT, and customs clearance?
The DDP rule allocates those responsibilities to the seller under the sales contract, but the logistics quotation must still state how duties, VAT, customs clearance, importer arrangements, service fees, and other charges are handled for the actual shipment. Do not assume an all-inclusive price from the DDP label alone.
Is DDP available throughout Europe?

Can you arrange DDP or DAP for Canada and Australia?

Is DAP available outside the listed DDP countries?
DAP may be arranged globally, subject to cargo, route, customs, destination, and partner review. The quotation must identify the named place, buyer and seller responsibilities, service scope, and charges.
Does DDP include unloading, insurance, storage, redelivery, or remote-area charges?
Not automatically. Each relevant item must be marked included, excluded, not applicable, or pending confirmation in the written quotation. Insurance and claim handling also require their own written scope.
Does DDP guarantee customs clearance or delivery time?
No. DDP allocates responsibilities under the sales contract; it does not guarantee customs decisions, examinations, transit, provider schedules, route continuity, or final delivery. Any shipment-specific commitment must be written and qualified.
